TheGambia.com is free to read and carries no display advertising. It is funded entirely by affiliate commission from bookings made through links on the site.
What an affiliate link is
Some links on this site — the tour buttons, the “check availability” links on tour cards, and the hotel search links in our accommodation guide — carry a tracking code that identifies TheGambia.com as the referrer. If you book after clicking one, the platform pays us a small commission.
The price you pay is identical. Commission is paid out of the platform’s own margin. Clicking our link never adds anything to your bill and never removes a discount you would otherwise get.
Affiliate links are marked with rel="sponsored" in the page source, in line with search-engine guidelines and advertising-standards practice.
Who we partner with
- GetYourGuide — our tours and activities partner. Every tour, ticket and excursion listed on this site is a live GetYourGuide product, and we are a registered GetYourGuide affiliate partner.

What commission does not buy
It does not buy placement. We rank tours on published ratings, review volume, the distinctiveness of the itinerary and value for money. Commission rates play no part in the order, and the tours at the bottom of our rankings pay exactly the same as the ones at the top.
It does not buy praise. Where a product has mixed reviews or does not justify its price, we say so and explain why — including for products we earn from.
It does not buy inclusion. Operators cannot pay to be listed, and we do not accept sponsored posts, paid reviews or paid links.
Prices and availability
Prices shown on this site are indicative starting prices at the time of writing, in US dollars, and they change with season, group size and exchange rates. The live price is always the one shown on the booking platform after you click through, in your own currency.
We check listed products periodically, but tours are withdrawn and relaunched without notice. If you find a broken or outdated listing, please tell us at [email protected].
Independence
TheGambia.com is not owned by, operated by or affiliated with any tour operator, hotel group, airline or tourism authority. We are an independent publisher, and the affiliate model is what allows the site to stay free and stay honest — a paywall would reach fewer people, and advertising would put the advertiser between us and you.
If you would rather not use our links, that is entirely fine: everything on this site is readable without clicking a single one.
